Chapman helps his league rout foes in Midsummer Classic

Kansas City -- The National League made it three straight All-Star Game victories over the American League on Tuesday, as the Senior Circuit pummeled their league counterparts, 8-0, before 40,953 fans at Kauffman Stadium. Unfortunately, the three representatives of the Reds had little to do with the lopsided win. Joey Votto got the starting nod at first while batting clean-up and then proceeded to go hitless in three trips to the dish. Jay Bruce entered the contest in the middle innings and came up empty in his two at-bats as well. The lone bright spot for the Reds, as relatively insignificant as it may seem, was the fact that Aroldis Chapman was able to record the last out in the bottom of the eighth via, you guessed it, strike out. He worked 0.1 of an inning in which he walked Angels rookie phenom Mike Trout and then fanned Trout's teammate, Mark Trumbo.
